Thoughts

He always wore his heart on his sleeve. Colin would happily engage in a variety of topics ranging from car mechanics, current affairs and how he would put the world's wrongs to right. I loved Colin's wonderfully dry sense of humour. His deadpan expressions would often hide a cheeky and mischievous nature. Colin enjoyed the odd joke or prank and could conduct a conversation in fluent Geordie, brummie and Liverpool accents just to name a few. He could also speak a bit a Spanish. A warm and genuine individual who I was lucky to have known. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Grandad Colin: My Grandad was a living legend. Every time I saw Grandad Colin, he always crafted a new tale from his past that we never knew before. From being a fashion rebel as a teenager to his time in the air force, I still find it hard to believe what he got up to throughout his life. My Grandad was quirky, and I wouldn’t like him any other way. If there was one thing I was guaranteed from an interaction from Grandad, it was the bombardment of thick regional accents that he could muster thickly and without fail. He certainly gave the brummies and scouse a run for their money. Now I am older, I only wish I got to have a pint of Newcastle Brown Ale with Big Col, something I remember him drinking when I was young. With all being said, I am only sad I didn’t get to learn more about Grandad Colin. I will miss my Gan Cannie Grandad.

Grandad was a very special person to all of us, he was an amazing grandad who loved to make us all laugh and teach us new words of the geordie language. I will always remember spending Christmas’ in the uk with him, going to visit him in his caravan, and spending time with him as a family. Grandad always loved his gadgets, his most recent were a drone which he showed us all about it, I remember when he got my siblings and I a personalised cracket with our names on them and gave us solar powered dog lights, that we still use to this day and are little reminders of him. Grandad will be dearly missed, he was a unique character and very humorous, he will continue to be a part of us forever and always in our hearts. I love you Grandad.
